Grim's Dyke is famous for its association with the librettist sir william schwenck Gilbert the writing half of the Gilbert and Sullivan partnership who lived in the house from 1890 until his death in 1911.The house was built there in 1870 for the victoria painter Frederick Goodall who had bought 100 acres of land at Harrow Weald in 1856 but was unable to build for 12 years until the expiry of the lease. Once you step inside this front door you will feel a world away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Turn right at the roundabout and cross into old Redding at the traffic lights.From Heathrow take the M4 West to the M25. Follow the M25 North to junction 19 Watford . Follow the A41 and A409 turn right in to Old Redding at the second set of traffic lights. From the M1 exit at junction 5 Harrow and follow the A41 and A409.Guests without cars should take Underground Trains to either Stanmore Jubilee Line or Harrow on the Hill Metropolitan Line and then take a taxi.
