This famous 14th Century inn was once a renowned meeting place for smugglers in times gone by. Oak beams and open fires offer mellow reminders of the past and create an intimate atmosphere in the bar. Set in the heart of theSouth Downs there are many fine walks with the South Downs Way passing right by the door of the inn. There is also easy access to both Brighton and Eastbourne. The Star Inn has 37 bedrooms 3 feature rooms all with private facilities including room service hairdryer and trouser press. Subject to availability families can be catered for with extra beds in some rooms. There is a charge for this facility. Please note that from the 1st April 2006 all of our guest bedrooms are non smoking. The Capella Restaurant serves a daily changing table d'hote menu and in the lounge and bar and a lighter selection of meals is also available.
Hotel Directions Take the best route out of London and join the M23 South.Continue until the M23 becomes the A23. Continue for 20 Miles and take the A27 towards Lewes and Polegate. Continue for 15 Miles until you reach Drusillas Zoo Roundabout. Turn right on to the B2108 and continue until you reach Alfriston. The Star Inn is on the right hand side. |
